Go coasteering in West Cork

"What if the route along the coast went straight through the sea?"

Why this is so fun

There is nothing quite like reading the coastline from inside it — jumping off a ledge into an Atlantic swell, hauling yourself onto a barnacled rock, and swimming through a sea cave with the cold water alive around you. West Cork's coastline looks dramatic from the cliff path, but moving through it at sea level is something else entirely. You stop overthinking and start trusting your body. That moment before you jump? It tells you a lot about yourself. Wetsuits and helmets are all supplied, so all you really have to bring is the nerve.

Someone who did this

Dara (32), Wexford — works in planning for the county council, fixes up old radios for no real reason

I'd driven past that coastline around Schull probably four or five times over the years and thought it looked class from the road, but I had no idea what I was actually looking at.
